Synopsis

In Game Show Duo, the wheel of fortune literally turns full circle for a married couple who finance their family, for over 40 years, with TV game show winnings.

This documentary tells the story of Bernard and Claire, impoverished but devoted husband and wife clinging to survival in a housing project in New York City, circa 1953. With no idea how to make ends meet, their condition becomes more desperate as their pile of debt mounts.

When their options are bleakest, they must fall back on the instinct for survival, and with curiosity, creativity and resourcefulness, they triumph. With the help of television game shows they manage to escape from debt, and feed, clothe and educate their children.
